On New Years Eve 1998 two lawyers (Paul Brinkmann and Tom Shorall) and a man of leisure (Scott Miller) launched a new concept in convenience stores - one with beer, wine, and a coffee bar within - Pay 'n Take Downtown Market.

From the Eric Clapton autographed Stratocaster on the wall and the rolling ladder for access to brew stock, to the wall of schwag featuring our mascott 'Petey' and the large selection of candy, snacks and convenience items, Pay 'n Take's collective mix of product and patrons has become a stalwart of the Flagstaff social and cultural landscape.
